Description
A systematic study was carried out on the measurement of the energetic light particle spectra in the reaction of 93Nb + 14N at 132, 159 and 208 MeV. The measured spectra for p, d, t and α were analysed with three models: an extended exciton model, a generalized coalescence model and a moving thermal source model. The experiment was performed with the 14N beam from the AVF cyclotron, and a 93Nb metallic foil was irradiated with the 14N beam. The emitted light particles were detected with a Si surface barrier detector and a high purity Ge detector telescope. The angle-integrated energy spectrum of protons was well described by the extended exciton model with the finite time interval of nucleon transfer of 1 x 10-23 sec. These spectra were also well described by the moving source parametrization at the temperature higher than that of compound nuclei and at the velocity about half of that of the beam. The coalescence relation was able to produce the spectral shapes of d and t quite well, but the measured spectral shape of α was considerably different from the coalescence prediction at the forward angle.
