New compounds RCuAl3 (R - Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm,Yb) and their crystalline structure

Description
X-ray diffraction analysis is used to determine the crystalline structure of RCuAl3 (R - Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm) compounds prepared for the first time, belonging the structural type p-CeNi2Sb2, sp.gr. I mmm, a=0,42016(5), b=0,41331(7), c=98178(9), R=0,104 for HoCuAl3. Position of Ha atoms is established. Interatomic distances in the HoCuAl3 structure are less than the sums of atomic radii. Lattice periods decrease during transition from TbCuAl3 to TmCuAl3. Compound YbCuAl3 has the structure of BaAl4 type (a=0,4293(6), c=1,0654(4)mm) with partially ordered distribution of Cu and Al atoms
