Sensor for monitoring corrosion on a member in a nuclear reactor core

Description

This patent describes an apparatus for monitoring the corrosion of zirconium alloy members in a nuclear reactor core. It comprises a sensor means formed from the zirconium alloy and having a first cylindrical section and a reference section; sleeve means formed having coaxial metallurgically bonded third and fourth cylindrical sections; lead means in electrical contact with the sensor means for passing an electric current through out sensor means; and probe means in electrical contact with the sensor means for measuring potential in the first cylindrical section and the reference section
