Disproportionation and oxidation of Tc2Cl83- cluster ion by oxygen in hydrochloric acid solutions
Description
Spectrophotometric method has been used to study octachloroditechnetate (2-3) ions stability in hydrochloric acid solutions is studied. It is shown that Tc2Cl83- ions participate in the following competing between themselves processes: acid hydrolysis, complexing, disproportionation with Tc-Tc bond rupture and oxidizing air oxygen addition with subsequent M-M bond rupture. Kinetics of these processes is studied as a result of which the mechanism explaining Tc-Tc stable bond rupture in octachloroditechnetate-ions is suggested
