Production of nitrogen, oxygen, neon and argon nuclei in the 'KRION-2' cryogenic electron beam ion source

Description

The ionization factor, 3x1020 cm-2, the product of the beam electron density and the time of interaction with an ion, has been achieved in the 'KRION-2' cryogenic electron beam ion source at electron energy of 6.5 KeV. Series of experiments on the measurement of the charge state spectrum evolution of N, O, Ne, Ar and Xe ions versus the ionization factor have been carried out in these conditions. Argon nuclei and Xe+37 ions were first obtained in the ion source
