Analysis of V-3Ti-1Si alloy after exposure to Pb-17Li

Description
The corrosion behaviour of V-3Ti-1Si alloy in liquid Pb-17Li is examined by Optical Spectroscopy and Auger Electron Spectroscopy. After an exposure time of 1000 h and at a temperature of 630 K liquid Pb-17Li does not attack V-3Ti-1Si. But at 820 K mass transfer occurred from the capsule material to the V-3Ti-1Si alloy. (orig.)
