Magnetic scintillation electron spectrometer
- 1. Moskovskij Inzhenerno-Fizicheskij Inst. (USSR)
Description
A scintillation magnetic spectrometer for cosmic electrons is described. Performances of the spectrometer are as follows: energy range 20-170 MeV, transmission approximately 2 cm2xsr, probability of positron imitation by a proton < or aproximately 10-5, probability of errous identification of particle charge sign < or approximately 1%; they were obtained by computerized calculation using the Monte-Carlo method and on calibration in electron and positron beams. The device has characteristics permitting to use it for investigation of charge composition and electron flux spectra of cosmic radiation
