Favored and semi-favored α decays of nuclei with N = 125 and pairing effects
- 1. Joint Institute for Nuclear Research
Description
The absolute values of the phenomenological neutron-enhancement coefficients, K/sup ph//sub N/ = 3.3 +- 0.3, are obtained from analysis of the relative probabilities of favored and semi-favored α transitions in nuclei with N = 125 on the basis of a non-R-matrix variant of α-decay theory. Comparison of the values of K/sup ph//sub N/ to the theoretical enhancement coefficients of favored α decay of near-magic nuclei leads to the conclusion that it is necessary to increase the effective interaction range in the particle-particle channel in order to obtain the proper cutoff of the contribution from the basis shell states lying far from the Fermi surface
