Orientational dependence of switching field in bistable Co-rich wires

Description

Dependencies of the remanent magnetization, Mr, and switching field, H*, of amorphous Co72.5Si12.5B15 wire on the angle, phi, between the wire axis and the applied magnetic field have been studied. Drastic increase of the switching field and decrease of the remanence with the deviation of the applied magnetic field from the wire axis have been observed. Such experimental dependencies have been interpreted as the remagnetization of the inner axially magnetized core under the effect of axial magnetic field projection. The contribution of magnetic field amplitude projection and non-axial magnetic domains of the outer radially magnetized domain shell should be taking into account in order to explain the observed angular dependencies
