Safety board takes DOE to task over low-level waste

The Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board called on DOE to conduct a comprehensive safety review of its low-level waste burial grounds, citing the department history of poor disposal practices. This review was a update to a requirment in 1988 that all sites conduct performance assessments on the safety of low-level burial grounds
