Non-proliferation and security of nuclear supply (the viewpoint of a developing country)
Description
After discussing the economic, technical and political reasons underlying the slowdown in nuclear development, this paper describes the resulting problems encountered by the nuclear industry. To remedy the situation, the author suggests that in addition to measures to be adopted nationally to ensure more efficient and safer operation of nuclear installations, actions at international level should be implemented to remove obstacles to nuclear trade, bearing in mind the primary importance of non-proliferation. Apres voir passe en revue les motivations economiques, techniques et politiques a la base du ralentissement du developpement nucleaire, cette communication decrit les problemes qui en resultent pour l'industrie nucleaire. Afin de remedier a cette situation, l'auteur suggere qu'en plus des mesures a adopter sur un plan national pour assurer une exploitation plus efficace et plus sure des installations nucleaires, des actions devraient etre mises en oeuvre sur le plan international afin d'ecarter des obstacles au commerce nucleaire, tout en tenant compte de l'importance primordiale que revet la non-proliferationFiles
