Quantum solitons in the nonlinear σ model with broken chiral symmetry
- 1. Bogolyubov Inst. for Theoretical Physics, Kiev (Ukraine)
Description
It is proven that the quantum-mechanical approach to the analysis of global radial breathing of the hedgehog-like field configuration leads to dynamically stable soliton solutions in the nonlinear σ model without a Skyrme term. Such solutions exist only when the chiral symmetry of the model is broken. 9 refs., 1 tab
