Synthesis and properties of super-conducting Tl2Ba2CuO6 prepared under high and low pressures

Description
The superconducting Tl2Ba2CuO6 compound, which contains a single CuO2 layer, has been synthesized under high and low oxygen pressures. Thallium loss can be completely suppressed and samples can be made with stoichiometric cation compositions. Several substitutions have been attempted. A wide range of Tc's is obtained and the correlations between Tc, oxygen content and changes in structural parameters will be reported
