EPR study of xerogels (H3O2)V12-xMoxO31+-y·nH2O
Description
State of paramagnetic ions in polyvanadium acid xerogels depending on degree of molybdenum substitution for vanadium and thermal treatment is studied by EPR technique. Spectra are recorded within 3-centimeter range at 77 and 300 K. Hyperfine structure within EPR spectrum of the investigated xerogels is observed at x=0.5 and 1.0 up to 200 deg C and disappears after specimen complete dehydration. Nonmonotonic variation of paramagnetic centre concentration depending on temperature of xerogel calcination is explaned by reduction-oxidation processes during dehydration
