Description
The thermoluminescence glow curve has been obtained for a KCl crystal doped with 113 ppm Eu2+ ions. After an X-ray dose of 12 rads, the curve showed peaks at 350, 388 and 453 K. The 453 K peak was selected for detailed analysis and showed a close linear relationship between intensity and radiation dose up to about 180 rad. Storage at room temperature for up to 45 days before or after irradiation does not alter the thermoluminescence response by more than 20%. This, and additional properties such as negligible fading, reproducibility and low cost, strongly suggest the use of this system as a personnel solid state dosimeter. (U.K.)
