Synthesis of life related molecules in interstellar space
Description
Two-body gas phase ion-neutral reactions have been proposed to explain the formation of organic molecules such as methylamine, methyl alcohol and formic acid. These molecules have been detected in the denser regions of dark clouds in the interstellar space. The formation process in each case is discussed. (author)
