Utilization of glass detectors for high dose measurement

Description

Two kinds of glass were used for high dose measurement in 110 kCi Cobalt-60 irradiation facility. The correlation between absorbed doses from 0.2 to 80 kGy and optical densities of the dosimeters was studied. The optical density fading of the detectors at room temperature was measured over 60 days. The results show that glass detectors can be utilized as routine dosimeters with the main advantage of very low cost, simple measurement technique and wide dose range.
