Anomalous ion thermal conductivity induced by ∇Ti instability

Description
The stability properties of ion temperature gradient instability are studied analystically in both weak and strong ballooning limits for toroidal geometry. The local anomalous ion thermal conductivity Xi is obtained. The scaling of this conductivity under slab approximation is consistent with the results given by Connor et al. The toroidal effects contribute an additional Pfirsch-Schlueter factor (1 + 2q2)3/4 to the conductivity
