Planning of the establishment for nuclear medical therapy

In this report, the facilities and equipments for RI therapy in Chiba University Hospital are described, centering around the problems of planning and operation. They should be planned so as to unify radiation management, and are composed of the sections of administration, inspection, preparation, waste disposal and RI therapeutic rooms to make examination and therapy convenient. Much attentions should also be paid to annexed facilities such as wash rooms used exclusively by RI-administered patients, draining and ventilation. Thorough planning and investigation must be made for radioactivity monitoring equipments and doorways for the facilities as well as the spaces for future expansion. As nuclear medicine has great possibilities, most of clinical facilities will have to possess the equipments in the near future, for which enough investigations are to be desired. (Kobatake, H.)
