Raman spectra investigation of molybdic acid solution in uranium ore processing

Description
The 0.2 mol/L variant molybdate anions contained in aqueous solution in the pH range of 1.5 to 9.0 were investigated with Laser Raman Spectroscopy. The Raman shifts obtained are in agreement with that in the published papers of the other investigators. According to the shifts, the chemical states of the molybdate species in the aqueous solution were determined. The species of monomolybdate anion was present in the solution at pH > 6.4. When the pH value of the solution was between 6.4 and 1.5, the species of polymolybdate anions and some protonated hetpamolybdate anions were formed gradually in the following order: Mo7O246-, HMo7O245-, H2Mo7O244-, H3Mo7O243-, Mo8O264-, Mo6O192- and MoO42-·(MoO3)11.
