System and apparatus for producing and storing liquid gases

Description
A system for converting a gas to a liquid is described comprising: a closed insulated container having a reservoir and a neck; a cryogenic refrigerator having a cold head supported within the neck; a narrow passageway between the cold head and the neck: a source of the gas; means for supplying the gas from the source to the narrow passageway under pressure, whereby the gas flows through the passageway in heat exchanging relationship with the cold head, the temperature of the cold head being below the liquefaction temperature of the gas, whereby the gas liquefies and drops into the reservoir
