Tune spread due to current ripple and momentum spread in the Main Ring
Description
The presence of ripple in the main ring power supplies causes the fields in the dipole and quadrupole magnets to have a time dependence with harmonic components being multiples of 60 Hz. These ripples cause the tune to have a similar time modulation. When the tune is swept around by the ripple, a deterioration in beam size and lifetime can occur if the tune comes close to or crosses a resonance
