Decay of autoionization states in collisions of heavy atomic particles

  • 1. Physico-Technical Inst., Leningrad

Description

Examples are given showing that autoionization transitions in the quasimolecule can play an important role in ionization processes at low and medium energies of colliding atomic particles. The study of energy spectra of electrons and the x-ray emission spectra make it possible to obtain information on the probability of autoionization transitions in the quasimolecule. Energy levels of helium and argon ions are discussed. 18 refs
