Study on the process of muon transfer from dμ atoms to 4He nuclei in deuterium-helium mixture at 1350 atm pressure

Description

The experiment on measurement of the parameters of the process of charge exchange of dμ-atoms on 4He nuclei at the deuterium-helium mixture pressure 1350 atm was carried out. The helium concentration varied from 5x10-4 to 10-2. The muon transfer rate from dμ-atoms in their ground state to 4He nuclei was equal to λ4Hed = (2.75 ± 0.22)x108 s-1. The lower limits of the ground state populations of dμ-atoms at the minimal and maximal helium concentration was estimated to be 0.96 and 0.90 respectively. 18 refs.; 4 figs.; 1 tab
