Description

The Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor that is at an advanced stage of construction at Kalpakkam will use an indigenous activated charcoal bed maintained at 110 K as the cover gas purification system to remove the fission gases from the cover gas using the delay and decay technique. This paper describes the details of the pilot plant built and operated at Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research and the results of the experiments performed to determine the dynamic adsorption coefficient of xenon at temperatures ranging from ambient to 130 K.
