Description
The expectation that more information - and more particles- in particle physics can be had by building a better accelerator. This article discusses the 'Standard Model' of particles and forces, which predicts there are no new particles, and the efforts to transend the Standard Model by linking all of the fundamental forces except gravity in a single frame work which suggest that an abundance of new particles are waiting to be discovered. The Large Electron-Positron Collider at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics is working overtime in the effort
