Perspectives of low power and shutdown reactor safety

Description

The author proposes an overview of the safety issues associated with low power and shutdown (LPS) operational states and outages. After having evoked the main approaches to safety (PSA, MTO, meanings of 'barrier'), he discusses the views on LPS safety in Sweden, the views and initiatives of the Swedish Nuclear Power Inspectorate (SKI) on this matter, the results of a study of the state of LPS safety in Sweden, and approaches to safety assessment of outages
