Description

The activity concentration of a 109Cd solution has been absolutely determined by counting the 62.520- and 88.030-keV conversion electrons in a gas flow 4π proportional counter operating at 0.8 MPa pressure. This result has been used to determine the gamma emission probability of 88 keV using a coaxial germanium detector, obtaining a value of 0.0365 ± 0.0004 that is consistent with the published data in the literature.
