Molecular and supramolecular speciations of organic solutions for extraction systems liquid-liquid

Description

My main areas of research revolve around the description of the organic phase and are based around three axes: - characterisation of organic compounds in solution; - molecular speciation of metal-ligand complexes using electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (ESI-MS); - supramolecular speciation of species in the organic phase. After a brief presentation of liquid-liquid extraction with a reminder of the vocabulary and a brief description of the different processes studied to set the context of the studies, I develop three chapters in this manuscript corresponding to the different areas of research. The first chapter, on the characterisation of organic compounds, is relatively brief and shows the main results obtained for the different systems studied. The second chapter, on the use of electrospray mass spectrometry applied to the study of metal-ligand complexes in organic solutions from liquid-liquid extraction processes, is more important: it presents the potential and limitations of this technique, which is still little used in the field of liquid-liquid extraction, before presenting the results. The last chapter is devoted to the aggregation of solutions of extractant molecules and brings together the major results. Prospects are presented at the end of each chapter
