Stroboscopic method application for studying plasma instabilities
Description
A device for periodically generated plasma diagnostics based on the stroboscopic principle is described. Periodic pulsed signals with the amplitude upto +-0.1 V in the millisecond duration range may be measured by the device with the 100 ns resolution. The main point of the method is the following an interval with duration of 100-200 ns is separated from the probe current pulse corresponding to the given probe potential by an electron valve at a given moment. This moment is determined by the delay of strobepulse contolling the valve in respect to the pulse, generating discharge. The amplitude of the separated pulse is proportional to the probe current at a given potential and in a fixed time moment. Integration of these pulses gives a signal proportional to the probe current at a fixed moment, which is registed by a recording potentiometer
