Description

The first chapter of the paper presents the Romanian policy and strategy regarding the management of radioactive waste. In this framework, the last evolutions regarding the set-up of the Radioactive Waste Management Agency and its role are highlighted. The second chapter refers to the radioactive waste inventories estimated to be managed in Romania. In the third chapter, the development of the regulatory framework for radioactive waste and spent fuel management is presented. The paper ends with the listing of the actions planned to improve safety of radioactive waste management in Romania. (author)
