Combination of outlet nozzle and inlet pipe for a reactor vessel

With the combination of a feedwater inlet and outlet nozzle there may be combined a thermal insulation at the pressure vessel wall for the support structure of a heat exchanger. For this purpose the heat exchanger is bolted from the outside on the pressure vessel wall around an access opening and provided with a collar that penetrates through the access opening and is welded together with a collar on the vessel wall. Above this connection the flange for the tube-shoped feedwater outlet nozzle is directly screwed on. It has got a lateral connecting nipple. Through it the feedwater inlet pipe is conducted to the heat exchanger. (DG)
