The paper and presentation The UK Government's Global Partnership Programme contribution to addressing nuclear submarine legacy issues in NW Russia – projects and lessons learned by Alan Heyes from the Department for Business and Enterprise, UK, reported on projects implemented in North-West Russia. They included the completed £23m Interim SNF Storage Facility at Atomflot; a number of infrastructure projects at Andreeva bay for safe removal of legacy SNF from the site; and the completed dismantlement of three decommissioned nuclear submarines. Lessons learned and challenges for future projects were presented.
