Description

In the course of mutation induction experiments aiming at genetic improvements of economic value, seed and pollen irradiation were compared. It was found that the latter produced a larger proportion of mutants with practical interest than seed irradiation. In another set of experiments mutants carrying deplicated chromosome segments were selected which may represent valuable new genetic material. (author)
