Effect of ion hydration on orientation relaxation spectra in aqueous solutions of 1-1 electrolytes

Description

The semiphenomenological hybrid model, operating with rectangular intermolecular potential, was applied for description of dielectric response of NaCl, NaI and KI aqueous solutions. The wide-band dielectric spectra, containing the microwave zone of the Debye relaxation and quasi-resonance spectra in the remote infrared zone are calculated. It is shown that in the cases when the hybrid model parameters are selected on the basis of analysis of the electrolytes orientation relaxation spectra, the self diffusion of water in the NaCl and KI solutions is characterized by negative hydration.
