Meningloanglomatosis

This paper describes the CT/MR characteristics of the rare meningeal lesion meningioangiomatosis (MA) and to correlate these findings with the clinical presentation and histopathologic features. Four patients (aged, 2 1/2, 5, 9, and 21) with pathologically proved MA were studied. One underwent serial CT and MR imaging and one underwent CT and angiography. In two patients, only pathologic material was available for analysis. All patients had seizures; none had neurofibromatosis. A peripheral, calcified mass with features of cortical or meningeal involvement, extensive edema, and contrast enhancement characterizes MA. On MR images, poor identification of psammomatouslike calcification may make diagnosis more difficult than with CT
