Two photon physics at LEP
Creators
Description
A review of the experimental results on two photon collisions at LEP is given. The total cross section for γγ → hadrons is measured for two-photon centre-of-mass energies up to 145 GeV. The QCD predictions are tested with measurements of the cross section for deep inelastic electron photon scattering (in terms of photon structure function), of total hadronic cross section for virtual γ*γ* collisions, and in collisions of quasi-real photons with jet, inclusive particle and heavy flavour (cc-bar and bb-bar) production. Resonance formation in γγ collisions and its connection to glueball searches is also discussed
