Notes for applicants for nuclear site licences under the Nuclear Installations Acts 1965 and 1969

These notes are intended to be a guide to anyone who is proposing to construct, operate or utilize any nuclear installation for which a nuclear site licence is required under the Nuclear Installations Act 1965. The main provisions and requirements of the Act are briefly described in Section 2 of these notes. Certain installations, although falling within the description of a prescribed installation for which a site licence is normally required, can nevertheless be exempted from the licensing requirements. Some notes on the exemption of such installations from licence requirements are given in Section 8. (author)
