Dynamic neutron radiography observations of water migration in porous media

  • 1. Institute of Atomic Energy, Swierk, 05-400 Otwock (Poland)
  • 2. Nuclear Research Center, PC 13759, Cairo (Egypt)

Description

Three examples of application of dynamic neutron radiography in studies of mass and heat transfer in porous media are presented. The self-diffusion coefficient of water in porous material, the imbibition rate parameter in building materials and the power density dependence of boiling of water inside porous medium are discussed. The results were obtained with simple dynamic neutron radiography station employing commercially available components
