Oxygen partial pressure of UO2, PuO2, and MOX fuels
Description
Observed data of oxygen partial pressure were compiled and evaluated for UO2, PuO2, and MOX fuels to construct the code 'GO2MOX' analyzing the oxygen partial pressure on the basis of the Blackburn model. The resulting code turned out to fail in explaining the composition dependence of oxygen pressure in the uranium-plutonium system. The Blackburn model was then modified by simply introducing a scaling factor into the equilibrium constant of the chemical equilibrium between U6+ and U4+. An improved code based on the modified Blackburn model proved to reproduce satisfactorily observed data for the oxygen partial pressure. (H. Baba)
