In situ retubing and refurbishment of nuclear steam generators
Description
This paper provides a general description of the processes and procedures involved in a retube operation, a discussion of a full-scale retube simulation, occupational radiation exposure considerations necessary for retubing, and a discussion of the licensing considerations involved. Steam generator retubing and refurbishment provides an alternative means for renewal of steam generators, should such action become necessary. The viability of tooling and processes involved have been demonstrated in a comprehensive development program culminating in a full-scale simulation
