Report of the Task Force on personnel dosimetry

Description

Recommendations of the workshop on personnel dosimetry are presented and conditions under which reliability testing is to be performed are listed. A baseline study of commercial personnel dosimeter services was conducted to evaluate the state-of-the-art of personnel dosimeters and to test current and proposed standards that apply to evaluation and testing of dosimeters. The Task Force recommended that: the conference support the NRC in the development of regulations requiring licensees to utilize tested personnel dosimetry services; the conference support continued efforts by the Task Force and the various federal agencies in evaluation of existing standards pertaining to personnel dosimeters and to the development of new criteria and standards which can be applied to the testing laboratory and to suppliers of personnel dosimeters; the Task Force continue in a monitoring status
