Experimental techniques in high spin spectroscopy

  • 1. Tata Inst. of Fundamental Research, Bombay (India)

Description

The different experimental facilities at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) for high spin spectroscopy studies are discussed. The experimental data on 84Y have also been discussed in order to demonstrate how one can acquire detail spectroscopy data on the high spin states of a nucleus using these facilities. The experimental data obtained with these various facilities can be used to probe the structure of the high spin states by comparing them with the predictions of different nuclear models. 14 refs., 9 figs
