Galvanomagnetic properties of chalcogenide spinels of Cdsub(0.96)Cusub(0.04)Crsub(2)Sesub(4) and Cdsub(0.93)Cusub(0.07)Crsub(2)Sesub(4) composition
Description
Temperature dependence of electric resistance and Hall effect of monocrystal samples of Cdsub(0.96)Cusub(0.04)Crsub(2)Sesub(4) and Cdsub(0.93)Cusub(0.07)Crsub(2)Sesub(4) has been studied in the temperature range from 77 to 330 K and within the region of magnetic fields up to 11 kE. Electric resistance falls with increasing copper content; the conductivity nature is semiconductive for each concentration. The Hall electromotive force consists of anomalous and normal components. The Hall anomalous coefficient has maximum in the vicinity of the Curie point (about 130 K). The normal coefficient has a maximum at about 150 K. In this temperature region the Hall anomalous coefficient disappears. The Hall mobility of the carriers has a maximum in the same temperature region whereas concentration of current carriers has a minimum. These phenomena are explained by the formation above the Curie point of magnetically foreign states (ferrones) related to alloying of copper
