Description

The paper aims to evaluate the results of a geostatistical study applied in stream sediments data in an area to the NE of Mahomas Mine, San Jose (Uruguay). The geochemical exploration in the 1:40000 scale and the database for this study includes Au results(ppb). The study was performed through variograms analysis, cross validation and kriging. The Kriging results is presented in the isogrades map for Au. this is the primary basic results for any exploration campaing. The analysis of the kriged map show a greater continuity of Au values in the NW-SE direction. This direction of anisotropy for Au distribution seems to correlate to the direction of transtensional branches of the shear zone controlling the Au quartz veins in the area.
