CO2 Emissions during the life cycle of nuclear power plants in comparison with coal power plant in g/kWh

Description
The CO2 emissions of power plants versus nuclear power plants during their whole life cycle were evaluated and compared. Besides the operation of the plants also their construction and dismantling phase have been taken into consideration. This plant life cycle was classified in three sectors: construction and dismantling, operation, and fuel provision. In CO2 studies it is practice to analyze the effect on the greenhouse gases. An overview of CO2 emissions around the world emitted by the power generation is given in chapter 1, specially the part corresponding to the coal power plants. The price differences between nuclear energy, carbon and gas are discussed. The effects of emissions trading in the European Union on the price development, and the Austrian power generation was analyzed. (nevyjel)
