Description
Part II of the review presents examples of the experimental diagnostic practice from the last 5-6 years, which proves advantages of fluorescence nanoparticles over conventional organic fluorophores for imaging in vivo and in situ. This part is focused on strategies for development of multifunctional and multimodal contrast agents, based on quantum dots (QD), and their application for simultaneous visualization of two or more biological targets using a combination of different imaging techniques: optical imaging/magnetic resonance imaging (OI/MRI), optical imaging/positron-emission tomography (OI/PET), OI/PET/MRI
