Plasma ion-acoustic turbulence in a magnetic field

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Fizicheskij Inst.

Description

Foundations of the theory of spectrum of ion-soUnd turbulence for completely ionized weakly colliding plasma placed in the magnetic field simultaneously taking into account the induced wave scattering on ions and quasilinear electron relaxation, are formulated. It is shown that under conditions when cyclotron frequency of Ωsub(e) electrons exceeds plasma ωsub(Le), unlike the case of nonmagnetized plasma, the effect of ion-sound turbulence on electric current along the magnetic field, is suppressed. In a weak magnetic field (Ωsub(e)<ωsub(Le)) the dependence of plasma resistence on the value of magnetic field p approximately psub(a) (1-Ωsub(e)/ωsub(Le)) (Psub(a)-anomalous plasma resistance in the absence of magnetic field) is obtained which agrees with that established experimentally
