Description

Status and recent developments of the MARS 14 Monte Carlo code system for simulation of hadronic and electromagnetic cascades in shielding, accelerator and detector components in the energy range from a fraction of an electron-volt up to 100 TeV are described. These include physics models both in strong and electromagnetic interaction sectors, variance reduction techniques, residual dose, geometry, tracking, histogramming, MAD-MARS Beam Line Builder and Graphical-User Interface. The code is supported world-wide; for more information consuls http://www-ap.fnal.gov/MARS/ and MARS discussion list mars-forum-at-fnal.gov. (author)
