LIFS atomic hydrogen density measurements at the URAGAN-3M facility

Description
Molecular and atomic hydrogen behavior within a plasma column of the URAGAN-3M facility was numerically simulated for a low density regime (bar ne ≅ 2 x 1012 cm-3). Local density of hydrogen atoms in the axial region was measured by Laser-Induced Fluorescence Spectroscopy technique. A good agreement of the measurements and simulations was observed. In the regime under investigation the results of hydrogen density spectroscopic measurements were found to be greatly affected by dissociative population of hydrogen atom excited states. 2 refs., 3 figs
